This was really just another excuse for me to have a good play with the Fantom X6. I made this cover completely in the fantom using internal sounds apart from the kick and the bass organ tone which I sampled into the fantom. The track was mixed in the fantom, only a bit of eq was added in mastering. Youtube compression as always has taken the shine off the mix though. It is my understanding that Robert Miles used a Kurzweil K2000, Roland JD800 and a Korg 01/W on the original recording. Back in 1996 when this came out I owned an Ensoniq ASR10 and the factory sample library disks could nail the strings, guitar and choir from this track, they sounded identical. It's a bit of a lazy video I know.
